Marandellas (now known as Marondera) was one of the earliest centres of white settlement in the former colony of Southern Rhodesia, Marandellas was a Rhodesian town about forty miles from Harare (then called Salisbury on the Salisbury-Umtali road). It contained two main townships called Nyameni and Dombotombo.
It was the centre of a rural district whcih covered some seven hunderd square miels and which contained Svosve, Rusike, Chiota, Bromley and Macheke. One of the popular history is that of
religious history where Mizeki and Moleli were both killed in 1896 rising.
